I was delighted to be given the task of writing a Ladbrokes review as it’s one of the biggest bookies in the UK and I wanted to see if it was up to scratch. Well the good news is that it is.
Don’t make the mistake of thinking that Ladbrokes is an old-school bookie that hasn’t kept up with the times. I found that it delivers a modern gambling experience that is full of cool stuff like live streaming, exclusive live dealer games, Fans Price odds boosts and much more. Plus those bonuses will give you a big reason to bet here.
So I was pleased to see that I could claim some decent welcome bonuses here without having to hunt down any kind of Ladbrokes promo code for the UK. There are two separate deals and here is how they work:
This is a tasty deal that will give you £20 in bonus bets for making a £5 opening bet. Just sign up to Ladbrokes, make this opening bet on odds of 1.50 or more and you'll get four separate £5 bet tokens. These have to be used within seven days but they can be used on most of the sports at Ladbrokes.
Fancy £30 in casino bonus credit? Well, just register at Ladbrokes, make a deposit and then bet at least £10 on any casino game. Now you just have to wager your bonus at least 40 times within 30 days and you can withdraw whatever you've won.
Ladbrokes wouldn't be able to be one of the biggest bookies in the UK if nobody could use its site. So I'm happy to report that the website is a breeze to use and its red and white colour scheme is instantly recognisable.
Signing up takes about a minute and it's simple to do things like make deposits and so on. Ladbrokes has also done a good job in somehow dividing the thousands of casino games into their relevant categories and everything loads fast and without any glitches.
However, I have two small criticisms. One is that it took me about five clicks to get to the Premier League odds which is about three too many. Secondly, the help section is a complete maze. Apart from that, all good.
I’m fairly sure that I’m not the only one who likes to bet from a mobile, and so it’s good to see that Ladbrokes has decent apps that you can download to your iOS or Android devices. The only thing to note here is that they are separate apps for casino gaming and sports betting. Not that it’s too hard to switch between the two, just that you might need a little more space on your small screen.
Both apps worked fine with simple ways to swipe through the odds and games, and then you could just tap the screen to bet or play. If anything, I found the apps a little easier to use than the website.
I found that I could make deposits at Ladbrokes with all of the payment methods you’d expect. These include major debit card brands like Visa and Mastercard, alongside everything from standard bank transfers to prepaid cards like Paysafecard. Most payments should go through instantly and what’s best is that you can usually make your deposits from just £5 at a time.
Once you've made some winnings and verified your account, you can make a withdrawal. This will be made back to the same payment method used for your deposits and you shouldn't encounter any fees. Most withdrawals should go through between one and four working days, but it can be as fast as under eight hours for ewallets.
If you can't find the answers that you are looking for in Ladbrokes' labyrinth of a FAQ, then you can get help from one of the brand's customer service agents. This can be done via live chat or email, although you can also send a private message on the brand's social media channels on Facebook, Instagram or X (formerly Twitter).
You’ll probably know that Ladbrokes is one of those brands like Tote in the UK that has been around for decades and is a trusted household name. So it's not a total surprise to find that the brand has got that all-important licensing from the UK Gambling Commission. This basically means that it's legal for Ladbrokes to operate in the UK and that it won't just run off with your money.
Elsewhere you'll see that it runs a fully encrypted website and that you'll get access to all of the standard safer gambling tools to keep your bets in check. There's also a privacy policy that lets you see how your data will be handled. Ladbrokes has also partnered up with several major sports organisations such as Liverpool FC which may be a good or bad thing depending on your point of view.
So Ladbrokes doesn’t have a standard loyalty program as such, but it doesn’t really need one. After all, existing customers can enjoy lots of bonuses like the following:
I'm fairly sure that all sports fans will feel well taken care of at Ladbrokes. Obviously the bookie focuses on the big UK sports like football, cricket, rugby and tennis, but it's also pretty good at US sports like American football, baseball, basketball and so on.
I'm guessing that there are some people out there who want to bet on things like beach volleyball and netball who will find what they are looking for here.
Not only does Ladbrokes cover lots of sports but it gives you plenty of betting markets for each event. For example, I saw over 240 betting markets for each Premier League football match which is probably enough for most people. Plus with lots of accas and a handy bet builder tool, you should find lots of ways to stay entertained.
Ladbrokes has clearly been around for a bit. So can it keep up with some of the newer brands like Bet365 in the UK?. Well yes it can actually. I know this because I did a quick odds comparison test between Ladbrokes and a bunch of market-leading bookies for a big Premier League football match between Manchester City and Newcastle.
I found that Ladbrokes could more than hold its own, and what’s best is that it serves up plenty of odds boosts for specific markets and you could even get a special Fans Price. This basically gives you better odds for your favourite teams and it shows you that Ladbrokes is willing to think outside the box.
Ladbrokes will let you bet live on all of the sports you’d expect like football, tennis and so on. You’ll also get an impressive range of live betting markets. I’m not sure how many people need 40 different ways to bet on an under-20s football game in Indonesia, but you can do it at Ladbrokes.
What’s best is that the brand even manages to serve up live streaming for lots of sports like football, volleyball and tennis. Not only is this mildly entertaining but it can also go some way in helping you figure out which of the many live betting markets to bet on.
I found that Ladbrokes will let you win anywhere up to £1 million with your bets on elite-level football. These are among the highest betting limits currently available and it shows you that the brand won’t cramp your style too much. The minimum and maximum bet amounts will vary according to what you are betting on but they never caused me any headaches.
For some reason I had it in my head that Ladbrokes was just an old-school bookie who basically serves up odds for football, darts and rugby and that was about it. But I’ve been pleased with how the brand has shown itself to be endlessly inventive in what it has to offer.
First of all it gets the basics right in giving you competitive odds for all sports, but Ladbrokes also goes the extra mile with things like live streaming, that Fan Price deal, and those bet builders. So keep Ladbrokes in mind if you ever want to take your sports bets up a level.
I was glad to see that I didn't have to faff around downloading any software to play at Ladbrokes' casino. Instead, each of these casino games loaded instantly from my browser so that I could jump straight into the gaming action.
What's interesting is that Ladbrokes has a bunch of exclusive casino games that you aren't going to find anywhere else and it even has its own live casino too.
Thankfully, the brand has also made sure that it has got games from major developers like Evolution, NetEnt and Pragmatic Play. This means that you'll get nothing but decent gameplay and a fair chance of winning too.
So the good news here is that Ladbrokes has just as much as, and possibly even more, casino games that you get at Win British Casino in the UK. After all, there are well over 1,800 slot games alone, and then you have all of those table games to think about. I thought it best to split everything up into categories so that you can see what's on offer:
This is probably the best part of the casino at Ladbrokes because the brand has got its own live dealer games. These include everything from blackjack to roulette, and while the croupiers look fairly sophisticated, they are actually pretty friendly.
There are plenty more live casino games from the likes of Evolution Gaming so that you can enjoy modern classics like Lightning Roulette or mix it up with some game show games like Crazy Time.
Speaking of which, Ladbrokes has way more game show games than most rival brands. So that whether you're into Fashion TV Mega Party Live or even some live slots like Sakura Fortune Live, you'll have a decent time here.
I'm hopefully not the only person who thinks it's a bit daft to spend too much money on casino gaming. So it's good to see that Ladbrokes won't push you out of your comfort zone at its casino.
You can play lots of games like Ladbrokes Roulette with a stake as small as 10p, and it goes to show that there should be something for even tightwads like me.
I’ll admit that I originally thought that Ladbrokes was all about sports betting, but it turns out that it’s pretty good at casino gaming too. After all, it’s got way more slots than you’re ever going to need and covers all bases with table games too.
I had the best time at the brand’s live casino as it goes above and beyond what you expect from this kind of thing, and for once I have no complaints here. So I should probably say that you’d best sign up to Ladbrokes if you want a taste of what a quality online casino is.
It's fair to say that Ladbrokes primarily focuses on just the biggest esports. This means that you'll probably have to head somewhere else to bet on things like Hearthstone, but you'll get full coverage of Counter Strike 2, League of Legends and Dota 2 here. As well as that, I found lots of bets for Valorant, Call of Duty and Rainbow Six.
I found that you'd get just over a dozen different betting markets for each game including map winner bet, pistol round winner, correct score and so on. Enough for me but perhaps not enough for those of a particularly nerdy persuasion.
Esports betting is obviously all about betting on those pro gaming tournaments and Ladbrokes will have you covered here. I found bets for everything from BLAST Rising and the European Pro League through to LPLOL, LVP SuperLiga and so on. So if you ever wanted to bet on PFL Wallachia or Hitpoint Winter, you can do it all here.
I checked out a CS2 match between NRG Esports and Exceritus and found that Ladbrokes' odds were roughly on par with what you get at even the most dedicated esports betting sites. What's best is that you could even apply some of those Fans Price odds boosts here to get even better odds.
It's hard to imagine betting live on esports without some kind of live streaming and it's' good to see that Ladbrokes won't let you down here. You'll see the live stream built into each page and enjoy a fair range of live betting markets like match result, map winner, best of three correct score.
I’m not saying that Ladbrokes necessarily gives you the biggest choice of esports bets but it’ll give you decent odds for all of the biggest games which is more than enough for casual esports fans like me. Obviously, if you’re the kind of gamer who does cosplay and all of that, then you might want something a little more in-depth. But with quality esports odds and live streaming, Ladbrokes gets the basics of esports betting bang on.
Ladbrokes is a famous UK gambling brand that runs over 1,000 betting shops as well as its website. It is also one of the largest online bookies in the nation.
Simply load up the brand’s site or download its app and then fill in the registration form with the requested personal information. Just note that you will have to verify your identity before you can do things like make withdrawals.
Just click on the Help & Contact icon in the Ladbrokes website footer and then follow the links to access the live chat service. Don’t forget that you can also contact the brand’s customer support via social media.
You’d have to be in a fairly miserable mood not to have a good time at Ladbrokes. After all, this brand has something for everyone. Whether you want to bet on Premier League football, play iconic slots like Starburst or even try some esports betting, Ladbrokes lets you do it in a way that is safe, simple and a lot of fun too.
If I was being particularly critical, I’d say that the brand could sharpen up its site navigation a bit and having a rewards program wouldn’t hurt either. But on the whole, I’d quite happily recommend Ladbrokes to anyone. Sign up here and you’ll see what I mean.
