Which is better? FanDuel or Caesars

fanduel vs caesarsWe couldn’t resist coming up with a comparison of FanDuel vs Caesars for sports betting. Take a look below to see which sportsbook won this battle for sports betting supremacy in the US!

You’ll know that FanDuel and Caesars are real heavyweights in the US betting scene. But which is better, FanDuel or Caesars? Well, we found that it was a close fight, but there were some interesting differences in how they approach betting odds, spreads, and bonuses. So keep reading to see whether you should sign up to FanDuel or Caesars!

Is FanDuel or Caesars available in your US state?

The first thing you should know is that both of these sportsbooks are brands that you can trust. You’re not playing at any weird offshore betting sites when you come to FanDuel or Caesars. Instead, you’ll be putting down your bets with online sportsbooks that are fully regulated in the US. All of this is important as it means that it’s legal for you to bet at FanDuel or Caesars as long as you are playing from within one of the permitted states.

So where is FanDuel regulated? We found that this sportsbook is legally allowed to operate in a good number of US states including the likes of New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Indiana, Colorado, Illinois, Tennessee, Iowa, Virginia, Michigan, Arizona, and Connecticut.

In contrast, Caesars is regulated in Arizona, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Iowa, Michigan, Colorado, Virginia, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Nevada. This shows that both sportsbooks cover a similar number of US states.

Just in case you were wondering, we found that both sportsbooks will take a variety of measures to ensure that your personal data and deposits stay safe. This can be seen in the range of encryption technologies as well as robust signing up procedures and lengthy privacy policies. All of which should be enough to keep you safe when you bet on sport.

Is FanDuel or Caesars better for sign-up bonuses?

This is where things get interesting. Both FanDuel and Caesars have no sweat first bet bonuses for new customers, but Caesars has managed to put on a deal that can refund your losses up to a higher amount.

Both deals work in pretty much the same way. This means that your first sportsbook bet will be refunded by 100% if it loses. The key difference is that Caesars’ bonus will refund your losing stake by 100% up to $1,100 which is just higher than the FanDuel no sweat first bet bonus that’ll refund your losses by 100% up to $1,000. Just remember that this deal give you FanDuel bonus bet tokens rather than a cash refund.

Beyond the overall bonus amount, these deals are almost identical. This means that your refund will be granted in the form of site credit rather than withdrawable cash. Plus this site credit has to be used within 14 days at both sportsbooks otherwise it’ll get removed from your account. So while Caesars just about managed to have the edge with the size of this deal, we can see that the FanDuel promo code deal wasn’t far behind!

Picking FanDuel or Caesars for your sports bets

Both of these sportsbooks appear to be equally capable of handling thousands of bets on a daily basis. These cover everything from football, hockey, basketball, and baseball to soccer, MMA fighting, tennis, golf, and much more. Neither platform covers much in the way of niche sports, but Caesars includes a few more bets for lesser-seen sports like softball, darts, and snooker.

We thought that we should carry out one of our odds comparison tests between these sportsbooks for an NBA game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Indiana Pacers. We found that both sportsbooks served up hundreds of bets covering everything from the money line and spread to totals, player props, team props, halves, and much more. Things were equally weighted in terms of the actual basketball odds and spreads on offer too.

However, it’s worth noting that Caesars and FanDuel have plenty of cool features that are aimed at taking your sports bets up a level. For example, Caesars had dozens of odds/spreads boosts, and FanDuel made a big point out of its same game parlay feature. Just so you know, these sportsbooks are also excellent at live betting with FanDuel just getting the edge here as it features more in the way of live streaming.

Comparing the Fanduel vs Caesars sportsbook apps

You can tell a lot about a sportsbook through the design of its betting app. The Caesars app is typically stylish with lots of frilly golf leaves that are set against a lush black backdrop. In contrast, the FanDuel app offers an aesthetic look that has electric blues contrasted against a white and mint green background.

While these sportsbook apps look very different, they actually behave in a similar way. This means that you can download the app to your iOS or Android device, sign in to your account, and then it’s a matter of making your deposits and browsing through the different odds and spreads.

The FanDuel app might actually be a little faster than the Caesars app. It definitely could handle all of the live bets that we threw at it, and the FanDuel app worked wonderfully well for doing things like putting down a same game parlay.

Not that the Caesars sportsbook app is bad. We found that it’s intuitively designed and betting is pretty easy on it. However, page loading speeds could have been better and we did see a couple of links that didn’t work for some promotions. But on the whole, both apps give you a great way to bet on sport from a tablet or smartphone.

Ranking FanDuel v Caesars Sportsbook for payments

We found that both sportsbooks were just about evenly matched when it came to the range of payment providers you could use for making deposits and withdrawals. Just remember that the choice of the payment method will ultimately be determined by which US state you are playing from.

FanDuel hosts a truly impressive range of payment options. These include many US banks who’ll let you carry out an ACH bank transfer, then there are all of the big card brands like Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. Beyond this, you’ll see more providers like Venmo, PayPal, Apple Pay or you could pay in person at a casino cage or PayNearMe outlet.

It’s a similar picture at Caesars. Here you can make deposits with credit and debit cards like Visa, Mastercard, and Discover, but not American Express. Other deposit options include PayPal, Play+, Skrill, and PayNearMe.

We should let you know that all of our withdrawals came through just fine from Caesars and FanDuel. Obviously, the withdrawal times varied according to the payment method used, but it rarely took longer than a couple of working days.

Which is better: FanDuel or Caesars at customer support?

Customer service is an incredibly important part of how online sportsbooks operate as you won’t want to be left hanging should something go wrong with your bets. Thankfully we found that both FanDuel and Caesars seemed to take good care of their customers.

Like many sportsbooks, FanDuel encourages you to use its live chat feature. This offers you a fast and easy way to get any of your queries resolved, although there is also email support available. It’s a similar picture for customer support over at Caesars too, although this has the extra feature of having a telephone hotline.

Both sportsbooks have FAQ sections that aim to offer you an easy way to get help with some common issues. While both of these FAQs did the job, we found that the Caesars FAQ had a couple of redundant links. Not the end of the world, but nobody wants to have to click through unnecessary pages to find the information that they were looking for.

Rating FanDuel vs Caesars for loyalty programs

You can’t help but be impressed with the sheer range of special offers that both FanDuel and Caesars have for their existing customers. While both sportsbooks had some great deals, we think that Caesars might just have the edge here.

This is because Caesars has put together a seriously generous reward program. It’s called Caesars Rewards and it gives you reward credit for each bet that you put down. By collecting this reward credit, you can then trade it in for extra bonuses or a bunch of perks like fancy dinners and ‘experiences’ at some of the Caesars resorts. Beyond this, you’ll find plenty more promos that could reward your bets on that high-scoring hockey team or give you credit for bringing a friend to the site.

While FanDuel doesn’t have a regular reward program, it does have plenty of deals that should encourage you to stick around. These include some awesome no sweat first bet deals that cover the same game parlays in soccer and basketball, or you could get some truly crazy odds for that big upcoming golf tournament.

Conclusion - which is better, FanDuel or Caesars?

We had a great time carrying out this review. This is because FanDuel and Caesars worked hard to surprise us with the quality of their sports betting platforms. It’s clearly not enough for them to just put on decent odds and spreads as both sportsbooks aimed to outdo each other with things like odds/spread boosts, live streaming, and so on. To be fair, things were almost as tight when we carried out our test of FanDuel vs BetMGM.

All of this means that we’re just going to recommend that you sign up to FanDuel and Caesars to see which is best for you. After all, both sportsbooks offer you a legal, safe and fun way to play and you can even pick up some great welcome bonuses on your way!
