Welcome to our guide that simply asks the question of whether DraftKings or Caesars is better for sports betting. Take a look below to see what we discovered!
DraftKings vs Caesars isn’t the only battle between sportsbooks going on at the moment, but it’s one of the most interesting. After all, these are two major brands that have plenty of financial muscle for putting on some great odds and bonuses. So let’s see what happened when we asked which is better DraftKings or Caesars!
These are two of the biggest online sportsbooks in the US and so it’s no surprise that they’d both be keen to set up shop in pretty much every state where online sports betting is legal. However, there are a few discrepancies in how Caesars and DraftKings cover the US which could have a big impact on which of these two sportsbooks you use.
Caesars offers its sports betting platform in Arizona, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Iowa, Michigan, Colorado, Virginia, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Nevada. However, DraftKings serves up an even larger coverage that features the following states: Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
The good news is that both sportsbooks are fully regulated in each of the US states in which they operate. This ensures that you’ll get nothing but a fair and safe betting service. Plus Caesars and DraftKing both offer fully encrypted sports betting platforms that’ll ensure your data and deposits stay safe. You’ll even be offered player protection tools at both sportsbooks to make sure that your wagering doesn’t spiral out of control.
We’re not saying that welcome bonuses are the be-all and end-all of how we judge online sportsbooks, but these deals can make a big impression. Thankfully both Caesars and DraftKings have put on sign up offers that’ll give you a great idea of what these sportsbooks are all about. Both welcome bonuses work in markedly different ways but we felt that either was worth a closer look.
The Caesars welcome bonus is a first-bet offer that’s not massively original but is great value for money. It basically offers you a refund of 100% of your stake up to $1,000 if your first bet on the Caesars sportsbook loses. The refund would come in the form of site credit that you could use to try your luck again. Just remember that you only get 14 days in which to use this site credit.
The DraftKings sign up offer takes a different approach. It is a matched deposit offer that’ll match your opening deposit of $5 or more by 20% up to $1,000. So if you deposited $5, you’d get $1 in wagering credit. However, you should know that the credit you get with this DraftKings promo code only comes through in increments of $1 for every $25 that you wager on odds and spreads of -300 or more. You get 90 days to try and release your bonus, so you should find steady amounts of bonus credit landing in your account during your first few months at DraftKings.
Let’s get one thing clear and that's that both DraftKings and Caesars are excellent at sports betting. You’ll find amazing odds and spreads here for anything from a massive NFL game to a range of global sports taking in everything from soccer to rugby and so on. If there were any notable differences, it was that Caesars covered a few more niche sports like softball and snooker, but there wasn’t much in it.
We took a look at an upcoming NBA game and found that both sportsbooks were evenly matched in their money line and spread bets. Caesars made things interesting with some cool double-double and triple-double player props bets, and we loved how easy it was to make a same game parlay or add an odds/spreads boost on specific markets.
To be fair, we found that it was a similar deal in our DraftKings sportsbook review where you got all of the player props and game props you’ll ever need. It was also simple to build up an outrageous same game parlay, although we saw a little less choice in terms of odds boosts. Just so you know, both sportsbooks had fun and fast live betting platforms.
Both of these sportsbooks have done a good job of creating apps that are nicely designed, easy on the eye, and capable of helping you enjoy sports betting on the go. Both of these betting apps are available for iOS and Android mobile devices and they are well worth a look.
The Caesars sportsbook app is particularly impressive as it features a nice interface that simply lets you browse the bets, access the promotions, manage your bet slip, and so on. While there is a lot of content on the Caesars app, nothing ever feels too complicated thanks to the clear and uncluttered app design.
Similarly, the DraftKings app offers you a simple way of swiping your way through all of the odds and you can simply add bets with a quick tap of your mobile screen. Plus we loved the fast withdrawal procedure that enabled you to cash out your winnings with just a few taps of your screen. Our only criticism of the DraftKings app was the fact that it sometimes used small white text on a black background which might be hard to read for some people.
Discussing payments might not sound too interesting, but you’ll need to know how you’ll be funding your bets. Again, DraftKings and Caesars are pretty evenly matched here. This is because both sportsbooks make it safe and easy to make deposits and request withdrawals.
You can make deposits at Caesars from $20 at a time with the following payment providers: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, ACH bank transfer, PayPal, Play+, or you could pay in-person at a PayNearMe outlet or at one of the brand’s casino cages. Withdrawals can be made via echeck, PayPal, Play+, or via bank transfer. It looks like withdrawals can be made from $20 and that they should be processed within 72 hours and from here it could take two to five working days depending on your payment method.
It’s a pretty similar state of affairs regarding making deposits and withdrawals at DraftKings. This is because you can use pretty much the same kinds of payment providers for moving your money around. The only notable difference we found was the fact that DraftKings said that it might take up to five business days to process withdrawals. However, we found that its withdrawals were much faster than that.
These sportsbooks offer you a good example of the kind of customer service that you should be looking for. This is because they make it easy to get in touch and the customer support you receive is always friendly and professional.
Each sportsbook tends to prioritize its live chat service as these offer you perhaps the speediest way of getting your queries resolved. While neither DraftKings nor Caesars appears to have any telephone hotlines, you will be able to message the brands’ customer care teams via the message form.
You’ll also find some detailed help centers at each of these online sportsbooks. We found the DraftKings help center packed in perhaps too much information, while Caesars seemed to have an intuitive understanding of the kinds of information you might be looking for. However, it was good to see that both sportsbooks clearly want to take good care of their customers.
So far, things have been pretty even, but we feel that Caesars might have a slight edge in terms of promos for existing customers. This is because you can simply join the Caesars Rewards program that gives you points for every wager you put down - whether it wins or loses. Once you’ve gathered enough of these reward credits, you can simply trade them in for a range of cool benefits like sports tickets, luxury dining, and much more. Plus there are plenty more special offers that you can enjoy here that include things like the Third Time’s a Charm deal that’ll give you bonus bet tokens if your chosen hockey team scores three goals or more.
Not that DraftKings is bad for putting on promos for existing customers. After all, it has a pretty generous VIP program that can give you lots of perks for your wagering. Plus you can even benefit from a handy refer-a-friend deal. But the range of offers here was marginally less than what you can find at Caesars.
If you’ve made it this far, you’ll understand that DraftKings and Caesars are very well-matched in terms of their sports betting platforms. You can use either app and find great odds/spreads and a safe way to bet on pretty much any sport you can think of. Some people might find that Caesars had the edge in terms of bonuses, but this is offset by DraftKings hosting a series of cool extra features like DFS contests and an NFT marketplace. All of this means that you should probably check out each sportsbook to see which works best for you!
