Where is Pick 6 legal for DraftKings? An overview

As things stand, you can download the DraftKings Pick 6 app in 14 US states, including California and a bunch of others. At this stage, we have it on good authority that more legal states are expected to launch in the not-too-distant future.

The reason why Pick 6 is not yet as widely available as you might have thought is that it is not included in the regular DraftKings Fantasy sports platform. To play this game, you need to use the dedicated Pick6 website or app.

Is Pick 6 legal in Canada?

What is the legal age to play DraftKings Pick 6 in these states?

In all but one of the states in the table above, you need to be 18+ to create an account and enter a Pick 6 contest. The sole exception is Nebraska, where the minimum age for fantasy sports is 19+. Just be aware that there are some states where the age limit is 21+ for DFS, but DraftKings Pick 6 is not yet available in any of these locations.

How to play DraftKings Pick 6

If your state of residence is included in the list above, congratulations - you can download the app or head to the Pick6 DK website and play. Once you have opened your account and made a deposit, follow this guide on how to play DraftKings Pick 6 today:

1. Choose a sport - NFL, NBA, or NHL
2. Choose between 2 - 6 players from at least two teams
3. Select “More” or “Less” for the stat prediction
4. Insert your entry fee (min $5)
5. Confirm your picks and entry
6. Make edits to your lineup or add an extra entry fee before the game(s) start (Optional)
7. Track your progress in the “MyPicks” section of your account
8. Receive your payout if you win

How do payouts work? 

The DraftKings Pick 6 payouts work the same in all 14 states. Your entry fee is split into $1 entries spread across all contests that your lineup, or “Pick Group,” is eligible for. This is done automatically, and you don’t get to select anything manually.

Once entered, you compete directly against other players for a chance to win a share of the prize pool, which is divided equally among winning players. For contests with 2-4 picks, you need to get all picks correct to win.

However, with 5-pick contests, 20% of the prize fund is split between players with 4/5 correct picks. Meanwhile, in 6-pick contests, the prize fund is divided like this:

• 6/6 picks - 70%
• 5/6 picks - 20%
• 4/6 picks - 10%
