Cowboys Survive Giants in OT Thriller
The Cowboys needed every ounce of Brandon Aubrey’s leg, and some late luck, to escape the Giants 40-37 in overtime. Aubrey nailed a 64-yarder at the end of regulation to force OT, then sealed it with his fourth field goal as time expired. According to NBC, he became the first kicker in NFL history to hit both a game-tying kick at 0:00 in regulation and a game-winner at 0:00 in overtime.
Dak Prescott delivered when it mattered, finding George Pickens for a long gain before setting up the game-winning drive. But Dallas’ defense was a mess, giving up 450 yards and three TDs to Russell Wilson. The absence of Micah Parsons loomed large — his trade continues to look like a gamble Jerry Jones will be reminded of all season.
For now, Dallas avoided disaster. A loss would have set off alarms. Still, this group has miles to go before they look like a playoff defense.
