The Denver Broncos pulled off one of the most improbable wins of the NFL season, scoring 33 points in the fourth quarter to stun the New York Giants 33-32.
After trailing 19-0 heading into the fourth, rookie QB Bo Nix caught fire, leading four touchdown drives and finishing the comeback with a game-winning 39-yard field goal from Wil Lutz as time expired. Denver’s offense had been stagnant for three quarters, but Nix’s legs and composure changed everything, highlighted by a go-ahead QB sweep touchdown with 1:51 remaining.
The Giants appeared to seal the game when rookie QB Jaxson Dart snuck in a 1-yard TD with 37 seconds left, but a missed extra point gave Denver one last chance. Nix hit Courtland Sutton for a 22-yard sideline grab to set up Lutz’s kick, a perfect ending on the day the Broncos honored Demaryius Thomas by adding him to their Ring of Fame.
The victory pushes Denver to 5-2 and atop the AFC West for the first time since 2016, while the Giants fall to 3-4 after blowing a 19-point lead and a 98.9% win probability.
