Baldelli Blows Up in Extra-Innings Loss
Target Field got a little extra drama last night. In the 11th inning of the Twins’ 4–3 loss to the Tigers, Minnesota manager Rocco Baldelli was ejected after arguing a controversial third-strike call on
Ryan Jeffers, one he thought hit the dirt. Before leaving, Baldelli made sure his message was heard, kicking dirt over home plate and tossing his cap toward the umpire. It was his fourth ejection of the season and a clear sign of frustration for a team sitting 57–64 and running out of time to turn it around.
NFL Preseason
Week 2 Kicks Off
The second week of preseason action is here, with plenty of QB situations worth watching. Rookie Caleb Williams makes his Bears debut Sunday night vs. the Bills in prime time, Justin Herbert will suit up for his first-ever preseason game on Saturday, and Brock Purdy is expected to get reps for the 49ers against the Raiders. In Cleveland, rookie Shedeur Sanders is unlikely to play Saturday after suffering an oblique strain in practice, shifting attention to Dillon Gabriel, who could make Week 2 his showcase after getting back into team drills.
