Online casinos in Mississippi are tightly regulated. That means you can’t use traditional currency to play games online or on mobile. However, sweepstakes casinos, a legal alternative to online casinos, have turned things around with the use of virtual currencies.
Sites like RealPrize, Stake.us, McLuck, LoneStar, and Jackpota let you play casino-style games for fun with “Gold Coins” and “Sweepstakes Coins”. These sites offer bonuses for new and existing players, such as the Stake.us exclusive sign-up bonus of 560K Gold Coins, 56 Stake Cash, and 5% Rakeback when you register with the code .
Before you sign up for a sweepstakes casino, it helps to compare the benefits against the disadvantages. Below, we’ve broken down the key pros and cons of our top-rated sweepstakes sites available to Mississippi residents:
Currently, online casino gaming is illegal in Mississippi. State law requires that all casino-style play take place on licensed physical property. As such, the Mississippi Gaming Commission has blocked any operation of traditional online casinos within the state.
In a similar way, online casinos in Massachusetts are off limits. For this reason, playing online slots in Massachusetts can only be possible on social sweepstakes sites using virtual currencies. The same fate awaits Mississippi, for there’s no legal pathway to authorize online casinos here either.
Although both Mississippi and Massachusetts bar online casinos, their legislative approaches differ. Massachusetts runs land-based resorts under a specialized license system and is considering new iGaming bills. In contrast, Mississippi restricts online casinos to riverboat and land-based venues with no plans for digital expansion.
Furthermore, Mississippi’s bonus structure mirrors the no-purchase casino bonus in Missouri, where players can claim free SC without purchasing an initial GC package. In both states, sweepstakes sites are the only legal way to play casino-style games without using traditional currency.
Since you can’t join traditional online casinos in Mississippi, the most popular legal alternative is to sign up at a social sweepstakes site. These sites let you play slots, blackjack, roulette, and more for fun with Gold Coins (GC) and Sweepstakes Coins (SC).
The Gold Coins are used for fun gameplay, while the Sweepstakes Coins can be redeemed for real prizes, subject to playthrough requirements and a minimum threshold. You’ll typically get a welcome bonus of GC+SC just for registering at a sweepstakes site.
Below are our top picks for Mississippi players. Each follows US sweepstakes rules, offers casino-style games, and gives a sizeable signup bonus, as shown in the table:
| Social sweepstakes casinos | Welcome offers |
| RealPrize | 100,000 Gold Coins and 2 Sweeps Coins |
| Stake.us | 560K Gold Coins, 56 SC, and 5% Rakeback |
| McLuck | 7,500 Gold Coins and 2.5 Sweepstakes Coins |
| LoneStar | 100,000 GC and 2.5 SC |
| Jackpota | 7,500 Gold Coins and 2.5 Sweepstakes Coins |
Below, we break down each site’s features so you can see how they differ:
RealPrize is a well-established sweepstakes casino that specializes in variety. It offers over 750 games, including classic slots and live dealer games. Top providers like Pragmatic Play supply many slots, such as Big Bass Bonanza 1000, and RealPrize also has exclusive titles just for its players.
When we tried RealPrize, we liked that you could redeem your eligible SC for real prizes once you reach a minimum threshold of 45 SC for gift cards and 100 SC for cash prizes.
The signup bonus is straightforward. You’ll get 100,000 Gold Coins + 2 Sweepstakes Coins immediately after you verify your account. There’s also a daily login bonus of 5,000 GC + 0.3 SC. With these bonuses, we explored games such as Panda’s Fortune and Secrets of Anubis.
Stake.us stands out as one of the biggest sweepstakes casinos in the US. You’ll find slots from Pragmatic Play, Hacksaw Gaming, NetEnt, and many others, plus video poker and a live dealer section. If you like new releases, Stake adds hundreds of new games every year.
Our favorite thing about Stake.us is the welcome offer. By using the code , we received an exclusive bonus of 560,000 Gold Coins and 56 in Stake Cash (Sweeps Coins), plus 5% weekly rakeback during the first month.
We used our bonus to play trending titles, such as Barabossa Revenge and Phoenix DuelReels.
McLuck Casino is another popular sweepstakes site, and its welcome offer of 7,500 GC + 2.5 SC with the code PROMOGUYSOCIAL is easy to remember. To access it, just sign up and verify your account.
Right at signup, you’re enrolled in McLuck’s eight-tier loyalty program, from Iron to Black Diamond. As you level up, you’ll benefit from perks like login bonuses, virtual currency boosts, VIP-only promotions, and a dedicated VIP host when you reach top tiers.
McLuck regularly runs daily prize drops and weekly tournaments, with millions of GC and thousands of SC given out. The McJackpot system gives you automatic entries in every game, allowing you to compete for prizes ranging up to 200 million GC or 100,000 SC.
We enjoyed playing Black Wolf Hold & Win, Aztec Fire, Hit More Gold!, and Maya Sun.
LoneStar Casino is a newer sweepstakes site from the makers of RealPrize, and it’s already gained a good reputation. When we signed up, we claimed the welcome bonus of 100,000 GC + 2.5 SC. No promo code was needed.
The sign-up bonus was enough to try out its game collection, exploring popular titles like Sword King and Joker’s Jewels.
LoneStar offers an impressive 5,000 GC + 0.30 SC daily login bonus and various daily races and challenges. It also features regular social media prize drops and email promotions, giving you more virtual currencies for extended gameplay.
Jackpota is a fun social casino with slot games and special features. As a new player, you’ll get 7,500 GC + 2.5 SC for free. No promo code to claim it.
Furthermore, Jackpota features a dedicated “Jackpot Play” category of 15-20 slots that offer exclusive jackpots unavailable on other sweepstakes sites. These include four jackpot tiers, such as Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand, with top prizes reaching up to 100,000 SC or 200 million GC.
The site awards a daily login bonus of 1,500 GC + 0.2 SC. You can receive free SC for mailing a handwritten letter. Yes, you can send a letter to the site’s headquarters to get 4 free SC. There are also weekly slot races and refer-a-friend rewards at Jackpota.
When choosing which sweepstakes casino to join, we looked for these key factors, and you should too:
Legitimate sweepstakes casinos adhere to US laws. That means you can start playing without purchasing an initial GC package. We only recommend sites where signing up gives free GC and SC right away. If you have to pay first just to see a bonus, that’s a red flag.
A sizeable sign-up bonus lets you try more games. Stake.us leads the pack here. We looked at the total Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins offered and their ease of claim. We prefer sites that give value upfront, just for registering.
The fun is in playing, so the size of the game library matters. We recommend sites with 500+ games and a mix of slots, table games, live casino, arcade, Megaways slots, and more. We made sure each site has enough variety so you won’t get bored, and many have daily challenges or new releases to explore.
Good sweepstakes casinos reward players for sticking around. All our picks have daily log-in bonuses, weekly races, and refer-a-friend perks. We also checked for VIP or loyalty programs. Sites like Stake.us and RealPrize offer VIP levels with extra weekly bonuses and cashbacks. If you plan to play regularly, loyalty rewards can really increase your virtual currency balance.
We tried out each site on a smartphone. All the sites above run smoothly on mobile browsers, and some even have an app. No lag or crashes while spinning slots or playing live dealer. This means you can enjoy these Mississippi casino alternatives on the go.
Quick help is a must. We looked for live chat first. For instance, Stake.us has 24/7 live support, and most others have email or support bots. Good FAQs are also a plus. Each site we recommend offers timely customer service and has resources for any questions whatsoever.
Lastly, we checked for self-exclusion and GC purchase limits. All the sites above let you set a daily limit or take breaks. They also provide links to problem-gaming helplines. We always urge you to play responsibly.
Once you’ve picked a sweepstakes casino, here are our expert tips for making the most of your experience:
Yes, it’s boring but important. Every sweepstakes casino has rules about who's eligible, how bonuses work, and how to redeem eligible SC for real prizes, subject to playthrough requirements. For example, you might only get your bonus GC after email verification, or SC might expire after 60 days. We always skimmed the terms and conditions sections to spot any game restrictions or age requirements.
We like to play through our free Gold Coins (GC) first since they’re for entertainment only. This lets you practise games without wasting your SC, which can be redeemed for real prizes. Once you’re comfortable, start using your Sweepstakes Coins (SC). Since almost all sweepstakes sites require a 1× playthrough on SC before redemption, focus your SC play on games with big prizes.
To redeem your eligible SC for real prizes, you’ll need to verify your identity. Don’t delay this. At some sites, you can play first, but at others, you must verify before claiming a bonus. Completing verification early also gives you access to other features. We recommend having your driver’s license/ID and a utility bill ready when you register.
Sweepstakes casinos often release new promo codes and events. Follow these Mississippi casino alternatives on social media or check their news sections. For instance, Jackpota regularly drops new bonus codes on Facebook and Instagram. Likewise, daily login bonuses reset every 24 hours, so log in every day, even if you don’t play much. Also check email newsletters and the site’s promotions page for slot races or spin-to-win games. They can help increase your virtual currency balance.
Remember that these games are meant to be fun, not stressful. Set personal limits on how many GC or SC you use per session. Use the site’s play timers or take breaks. If you find yourself frustrated, step away. The best strategy is to enjoy the games. After all, you’re playing for fun.
Since online casinos aren’t legalized in Mississippi, just like casinos in Maryland, sweepstakes alternatives are available for Mississippi players who enjoy casino-style games on the go. However, to access these sites, you’ve to register, and the process took us a few minutes to complete.
Just make sure you’re 21 or older and a Mississippi resident before you begin. Here’s what you need to do:
Once you’ve completed these steps, your free Gold Coins and Sweepstakes Coins will appear in your account, and you can start playing right away!

No. Mississippi doesn’t allow any online casinos except for on-site at a licensed casino. State law insists gaming must be conducted on the casino floor. However, Mississippi residents can turn to sweepstakes casinos, which are a legal alternative.
The best alternatives are sweepstakes casinos, also called social casinos. Examples include RealPrize, Stake.us, McLuck, LoneStar Casino, and Jackpota. These sites use the virtual currencies Gold Coins and Sweepstakes Coins instead of traditional currency.
Each site has its minimum threshold. For example, McLuck requires just 10 SC for gift cards or 75 SC for cash prizes. After you reach that balance and meet any playthrough requirement, you submit a redemption request in your account dashboard. You’ll provide ID verification and your preferred redemption method, such as PayPal, ACH, or gift card, and then wait for processing, which is typically within 3-7 business days.
You can enjoy casino-style games such as video slots, including Megaways; table games, such as blackjack, roulette, and video poker; live dealer games; arcade-style titles; and even bingo or scratch cards on some sites. Each sweepstakes casino has its own library, so you’ll find favorites and exclusive original games.
