Wondering about whether or not you can play at an online casino in Arizona? If so, then you’ve definitely come to the right place, because that’s exactly what we’re covering in this article.
Not only will we be discussing the legality of online casinos in Arizona, but we’ll also look at how you can claim some great bonuses at the nation’s leading sweepstakes casinos to help you get your gaming journey off to the best possible start. Let’s get right to it!
Unfortunately for any Arizona-based folks reading this, Arizona is not one of the states that allow online casinos. Even though the state allows for certain types of online gambling, like sports betting and daily fantasy sports (DFS), it currently has no legalised online casinos. This may confuse some people as Arizona has made it legal for retail casinos, but at the time of writing, real money online casino sites in Arizona are still not available.
In saying that, if you really want to play online casino-style games, residents of Arizona can access sweepstakes casinos as a legal alternative.
| Are online casinos legal? | No, but online sports betting and DFS are legal. |
| Are retail casinos legal? | Yes |
| Are sweepstakes casinos legal? | Yes |
| Legal gambling age | 21 |
As I briefly mentioned before, if you're looking to play casino-style games in Arizona online, you’re going to have to play at sweepstakes casinos. These sites offer a very similar experience to what a real money online casino in Arizona does, but they are considered legal because they operate under the sweepstakes model.
All you need to know about this model is that it’s legal because you won’t ever use real money when you play the games, nor will you win any from gameplay. You’ll play with virtual currencies that outside of the site have no value. Gold Coins are used to play just for fun, whereas Sweeps Coins can be used to play in promotional mode and be redeemed for prizes after meeting the playthrough and eligibility requirements.
Feel free to take a look at the list below that shows some of my best recommendations for sweepstakes casinos in Arizona.
If you want to head straight to one of the best sweepstakes casinos in the country, then Stake.us has to be the first stop. It quickly garnered itself a reputation as a premier destination for sweepstakes casino fans. This is most like a result of its extensive game library and exciting bonuses for the people who sign up there. By signing up with the bonus code PROMOBOY, you’ll unlock a welcome offer of 55 Stake Cash, 260,000 Gold Coins, and 5% Rakeback. This generous package can be used across the site, ensuring your gaming adventure starts on the right foot.
Many of Stake.us’s games come from top developers like Pragmatic Play and Hacksaw Gaming, guaranteeing high-quality entertainment. You can enjoy popular slots like Sugar Rush and Gates of Olympus or try unique titles like Crash and Plinko for something different.
RealPrize is a vibrant and innovative social casino that’s all about delivering fun and exciting prizes. As a new player, you’ll be welcomed with 100,000 Gold Coins and 2 Sweeps Coins, and you won’t even need to enter a promo code to claim it. Simply just complete sign up and the GC and SC will be waiting for you when you sign in.
One of RealPrize’s standout features is how simple it is to use. Navigation is effortless thanks to everything being really well categorized and accessible from the main menu. As well as that, the site quickly becomes very personalised by allowing you to save your favorite games for easy access.
Clubs Casino may not be the largest sweepstakes casino, but it definitely competes with its competitors by offering some exciting games and enticing rewards. New players can claim a welcome bonus of 25,000 Gold Coins, 5 Sweeps Coins, and 10 no wagering no deposit free spins on the popular Zombie Circus slot.
Clubs Casino is known for its creative game options and smooth user experience, offering a mix of slots, table games, and daily rewards. Regular promotions also keep things lively, ensuring there’s always something new to look forward to.
WOW Vegas has gained its spot as one of the leading sweepstakes casinos in the U.S., and for good reason. New players can enjoy a welcome bonus of 5 Sweeps Coins and 250,000 WOW Coins, making it easy to dive right in.
With a massive selection of slots and table games, WOW Vegas offers something for every type of player. Whether you’re spinning purely for fun or aiming to redeem Sweeps Coins for prizes, this platform delivers a high-quality, user-friendly experience.
One of the reasons why so many people choose sweepstakes casinos as their legal alternative to a real money online casino in AZ is because of the fact that you can still redeem SC for prizes when you play there, but it works a little differently. Instead of winning money directly from gameplay, you have to play the games with your Sweeps Coins.
After you have met the minimum playthrough requirements and collected enough of them, you can request a redemption, where you ‘trade in’ your Sweeps Coins for real money prizes at a rate of 1 SC for $1 USD. The minimum requirements change from site to site, so remember to check the terms and conditions of your chosen bonus before you claim it.
Now that you know where you can play, you will probably want to know which of the sites have the best apps. Here’s a quick breakdown of the best legal casino apps in Arizona.
| App Name | App Store Rating | Play Store Rating | Number of Games |
|---|---|---|---|
| RealPrize | 4.2 | 4.1 | 100 |
| Clubs Casino | 4.0 | 4.0 | 120 |
| High 5 | 4.3 | 4.2 | 200 |
| WOW Vegas | 4.6 | 4.5 | 180 |
| Stake.us | n/a | n/a | n/a |
Like we already discovered, online casinos are not yet legal in Arizona. Even though gambling laws in the state allow tribal casinos and online sports betting (legalized in 2021), they still exclude traditional online casinos. This is because the state’s current legislative efforts have been focused on regulating the existing forms of gambling, and any potential changes to include online casinos would require new legislation and regulatory frameworks.

Bonuses are without a doubt one of the best ways to get the most out of playing at any site. They effectively just give you so much extra game credits to play with, before you need to reach into your own pocket to purchase extra Gold Coins. I always recommend looking out for sites that offer a great welcome bonus, as these are one of the few sweepstakes casino bonuses with no deposit required.
As well as welcome and login bonuses, I like to sign up at sweepstakes casinos that offer fun ongoing promotions like leaderboards or competitions, as they give you an additional chance to score some game tokens.
One of the best ways to guarantee that you’re going to get a good experience when you sign up at a new site is to go with one of the popular ones. The top sites are generally considered the best for a reason, and they typically have good reviews. I like to look for positive reviews on a site before I sign up. Particularly when the reviews are discussing important things like payment options, redemption and their legitimacy.
Let’s face it, the main reason you sign up to any site is to play the games. So, it makes sense that you’ll want to play at a site that you want to choose a site that is offering all of the games that you enjoy playing. It goes without saying that we prioritize responsible gambling by promoting legal, regulated gaming options and ensuring you have access to resources for safe play. Arizona residents can access support through:
