UFC Macau just wrapped up from Galaxy Arena in China, and Petr Yan just pitched a shutout against Deiveson Figueiredo.
The former bantamweight king nearly doubled up on Figueiredo in the significant strike department, including a brilliant uppercut knockdown to help earn three scores of 50-45. This is the first time that Yan has experienced back-to-back victories since 2020, and it seems as though Yan has had a return to form. In his post-fight interview, he called for a rematch with the current 135-pound king, Merab Dvalishvili.
Despite a late rally from Figueiredo, which included dropping Yan in the fourth frame, his successful move to bantamweight has suffered its first hiccup. After a trio of wins over the likes of Rob Font, Cody Garbrandt, and Marlon Vera -- Yan has sent the former flyweight champ back to the drawing board.
Earlier on the card, three Road to UFC tournament winners earned themselves a contract.

Figueiredo scored himself a quick takedown within the first minute of the match, but it was only a matter of time before Yan scrambled his way into top position. There was more control in this round than anything else, with Yan landing the few strikes that were thrown.
Yan came out in the second stanza attacking the lead leg of Figueiredo with some nasty stomps. The takedown just wasn't there for Figueiredo, who found himself stuck on the outside relying on his boxing to stay in the fight. This was another solid round for Yan, who hit a wicked Judo trip just before the buzzer.
Figueiredo blasted a takedown about a minute into the third, but Yan was quick to spring back to his fight. Then, just as Fig was ducking down for a shot, Petr blasted him with an uppercut that sat him down. Figueiredo quickly recovered, but Yan started to turn it on. He was feeling himself, and even landed a flying knee towards the end of the round.
Yan continued to stuff the takedown in the fourth frame, even when Figueiredo had clean entries to the hips. The uppercut kept finding a home for Yan, too. Just as the former bantamweight champ entered a flow state, Figueiredo scored a big knockdown courtesy of his right hand. The former flyweight champ also landed some heavy leather to the body before the round ended.
The final round was highly competitive. Figueiredo knew he needed to go for broke, and really left it all out there. The problem for him was that Yan was just a step ahead in every facet of the sport. Yan was still landing more of the volume, while also dictating where the fight was taking place.
