The first PPV of 2025, UFC 311 has added another high profile bout.
The UFC appears ready to start the coming year with a bang. Returning to Inglewood for the first time since 2018, the world's largest MMA promotion expects to play host to a lightweight title fight main event between Islam Makhachev and Arman Tsarukyan. The rest of the bout order has yet to be set, but fans are looking forward to a top-ranked heavyweight bout as well. Serghei Spivac is set to take on Jailton Almeida. A light heavyweight bout between Bogdan Guskov and Johnny Walker has also been set for the event.
By far the highest profile booking announced outside the main event, however, is a light heavyweight battle of former champions Jiri Prochazka and Jamahal Hill. In a social media post 'BJP' announced he would be facing Hill on January 18th.
Both men enter this fight fresh off humiliating losses to champion Alex Pereira. Both Hill and Prochazka had brief title runs cut short by injury, following quickly on the heels of title winning performances over Glover Teixeira. In Prochazka's case, the Czech talent suffered a brutal shoulder injury in training. For his part Jamahal Hill suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon during a promotional basketball game at the UFC's International Fight Week.
This bout will mark Hill's first return to action since April, when he suffered a KO loss to Pereira in his return bout from injury. Prochazka, on the other hand, has had two cracks at the Brazilian former kickboxing star. The Jetsaam Gym Brno product fought Pereira for the vacant belt in 2023, then again as a challenger to Pereira's crown in 2024. He lost both bouts via second round KO.
Here's a look at the current UFC 311 fight card as it stands right now. Bout order has not yet been finalized. Stay tuned to PromoGuy for more coverage as the event approaches.
