Jake Paul may have just featured in the most viewed combat sports event ever. The social media star recently 'boxed' Mike Tyson on Netflix while a reported audience of 65 million people tuned in. So it's no surprise this bout drew the attention of Paul's old rival Tommy Fury.
Paul and Fury fought in 2023 with Fury handing "The Problem Child" his first ever loss. Paul has contested that split decision loss ever since and may want to even his record against Fury in the future.
Fury recently let it known his thoughts on a potential second match-up with Paul. And he wasn't exactly coy about what he thinks the future holds.
According to Tommy Fury a second fight with Jake Paul is highly likely.
Fury, who is gearing up to fight former UFC fighter Darren Till in January, spoke with ESPN about his future plans.
;When asked about a potential rematch with Paul, Fury sounded excited about the possibly of Fury vs. Paul 2.
"In a heartbeat, yeah," he told ESPN. "I mean at the end of the day I think me and him, we're set in stone. He's only got one defeat and that's to me, so it's inevitable that we are going to get back in the ring. I know I'm going to be an improved fighter and with him the [fights] he's taking and what he's doing, I'm not sure if he's going to improve that much."
It remains to be seen if Paul would want to fight Fury again (and not a bigger fish like Conor McGregor).
Fury also talked about his preparation for Till.
"I've been in a training camp since August because obviously I've had quite a while out, so I've been using my time wisely. I've been in the gym three times a day and I've really put together a machine. I wouldn't even call it a body, I'd call it a machine, especially what my dad's been putting us through. So yeah, we're ready to go."
Tommy Fury vs. Darren Till takes place on January 18, 2025 at the Co-op Live in Manchester, England. The fight takes place on the Misfits Boxing & DAZN X-Series 20 card.
The card currently has no other fight bookings.
Tommy Fury 10-0 in pro boxing. He's coming off a unanimous decision win over KSI in October 2023.
Darren Till debuted in boxing earlier this year, beating Mohammad Mutie due to an injury suffered in the second round.
That fight was Till's first competitive appearance since he was cut by the UFC.
After a hot start to his MMA career, Till earned himself a UFC welterweight title shot against Tyron Woodley in 2018. Till lost that bout by second round decision.
Till then went 1-4 in his remaining UFC contests, taking a split decision over Kelvin Gastelum, but losing to Jorge Masvidal (by TKO), Robert Whittaker, Derek Brunson (by submission) and Dricus Du Plessis (also by submission).
