UFC legend Carlos Condit looked good in his return to competition at age 40. Unfortunately he lost a debatable decision in his BJJ match against Michael Venom Page at Polaris 30.
The longtime UFC fan favorite took on a fellow talented striker in Michael Page, and he managed to enter the legs and attempt several submissions on the active UFC fighter. Unfortunately for fans of “The Natural Born Killer,” while he had a very good case to win the match, it seems like the judges favored the few takedowns and top control over Condit’s actual submission attempts.
Drawing parallels to his MMA career, it seems like Condit’s lack of wrestling and willingness to concede bottom position likely cost him the victory.
Page, a current UFC welterweight, officially won his professional grappling debut. Condit, who won belts in both the UFC and WEC, retired from MMA competition back in 2021.
In the co-main event, New Wave product Helena Crevar won a decision over Nia Blackman to defend her Polaris lightweight title and continue her impressive run as a 17-year-old BJJ Phenom.
