It’s a beautiful Tuesday for baseball across America. There are plenty of games happening from coast to coast, and all of them come with solid betting lines. Some, however, are much better than others.
This article goes over the four player prop bets we like the most for Tuesday August 12. Not only are the pay outs reasonable, there are several external factors that make them stand out.
We start with our favorite home run bet of the day. There are several strong deep ball lines around the league, but few are more interesting than Eugenio Suarez. He’s a strong hitter with power potential in an extremely favorable matchup.
While Suarez has struggled since being traded to Seattle, he has a great chance of going deep in Baltimore. The slugger faces off against Dean Kremer, who has a 4.35 ERA on the year. In addition, Suarez has a .880 OPS and 26 home runs against righties on the season.
Kremer has also given up 18 home runs this year, meaning he’s no stranger to throwing bad pitches. If Suarez gets something in the zone, he could easily put it over the fence.
Oneil Cruz comes into Tuesday as the sixth-best home run batter in baseball. He’s also set to hit fourth against Freddy Peralta (3.03 ERA). While Peralta is good, his ERA has steadily been climbing throughout the year, and he’s struggled much more over his last seven games. That could give Cruz the opportunity to knock someone home.
Something else in Cruz’s favor is that American Family Field is incredibly hitter friendly. It has the eighth-highest elevation among all MLB parks, which almost always leads to better offense across the board. That means there easily could be runners on base when he comes up to bat.
The Brewers are undeniably the better team, but the Pirates know how to put up runs. Cruz also has home run potential, which means one good swing could put him over the line. There’s good potential for a money bet here.
Kyle Stowers is a strong hitter who puts the ball in play. The left fielder is hitting .285 on the year with 25 home runs and 71 RBIs. That’s why we like him to get two more when facing off against the Guardians in Cleveland.
There’s no doubt that 1.5 is a high line for runs batted in, but Stowers is in a good position to do it. Not only is he going up against the incredibly inconsistent Logan Allen (3.96 ERA), but Stowers ranks in the 95th percentile for home run talent across the league.
That’s then bolstered by the fact that Progressive Field is the 3rd-best park in the majors for left-handed BABIP and the 6th-shallowest right field fences in baseball. The weather should be warm, which leads to better offense as well.
Emmet Sheehan is by no means having a bad season. He’s sporting a solid 3.00 ERA on the year with 31 strikeouts. However, his starts don’t last that long even on his best days. He’s averaging just over 5 innings pitched on the year, which sits right at today’s line.
While the Angels are struggling, they currently have the eighth unluckiest offense in baseball and are due for some positive regression. That alone means they could get some hits early and put pressure on Los Angeles.
Sheehan has also only pitched five full innings three times on the season. The Dodgers are careful with him, and even in a game where things are going their way they could easily pull him before fifteen total outs.
